Use Player Publishing Options


After completing this topic, you will be able to use Player options.


Steps:

  1. Publish the Document Basics module for the Player and Standalone Topic Files.

  2. Use the menu to start the publishing process.

     

    Click the File menu.

  3. Click the Publish command.

  4. Publish to the default publishing destination.

     

    Click the Next > button.

  5. Publish the selection only.

     

    Click the Publish selection only option.

  6. Continue setting the publishing options.

     

    Click the Next > button.

  7. When you publish a different content selection to a destination folder that already contains published content, you are asked if you wish to replace the existing content. If you continue, the results depend on the type of format you are publishing.

     

    Note: If you did not want to replace the published content, you would click the Cancel button and publish to another publishing destination.

  8. Publish the content to the same publishing destination and replace the old content.

     

    Click the Continue button.

  9. Choose the desired deployment option.

     

    In this example, click the Player and LMS check box.

  11. Change the color of the marquee to blue.

     

    Click the Marquee color button.

    Click the Blue (5th column, 4th row) option.

  14. Click the scroll bar to show all of the options for the Player Preferences.

  15. Do not allow users to change their preferences.

     

    Click the Enable users to change their Player preferences option to deselect it.

  16. Do not allow users to press Enter to skip steps in Try It! mode.

     

    Click the Enable skipping in Try It! mode option to deselect it.

  18. Publish the two deployments.

     

    Click the Publish button.

  19. The Publishing Process begins publishing the Player Package.

  21. When the publishing is complete, select the option to view the folder where the content was published.

     

    Notice that when you publish more than one deployment, the option to launch the content is not active.

     

    Click the Open the folder where the content was published option.

  23. Open the PlayerPackage folder to view the contents.

     

    Double-click the PlayerPackage list item.

  24. Use the Play.exe file to launch the Player.

  35. In Windows Explorer, click the Back button in the toolbar to move back to the previous folder.

    Double-click the TPC folder.

    Click the Do It! option and click OK.
