This figure illustrates the main functions of IP Service Activator. At the highest level, service and configuration requests are delivered to IP Service Activator. At the middle level, IP Service Activator turns the service request into device-specific commands, keeps track of changes in the knowledge store, and passes information to peer O S S components. At the lowest level, I P Service Activator delivers commands to network nodes. Devices are then configured dynamically and checked regularly to trap errors.
