This figure shows the two branches of the inheritance model. Under the physical branch is the network root, followed by the network, the device, and the interface branches. Under the interface is a subinterface branch and a P V C branch. The subinterface branch also has a PVC branch.

Under the logical branch are customer and V P N branches with a site branch under them. The site branch connects to the logical branch depending on the type of network item. CE Device sites connect to the Device level of the physical branch. PE Interface sites connect to the Interface level of the physical branch. PE Subinterface sites connect to the Subinterface level of the physical branch.
