This figure provides an example of where you might apply MQC PHB groups to a network.

M Q C P H B group 1 L L Q, Shape, Police (Single Rate) is applied in the core network to regulate core network traffic and enforce service provider bandwidth restrictions.

M Q C P H B group 2 is applied at the P E device in the core network when there is no managed C E device in the ethernet-connected site.

M Q C P H B group 3 congestion avoidance and Police (two rate) is applied at the P E device in the core network, and the connected branch site C E device to regulate traffic load on the C E site and enforce the service package's bandwidth restrictions.

M Q C P H B group 4 Classify and Mark is applied at the Branch site C E device to classify and mark outbound traffic before it enters the core network.

Access rules are applied at the Internet Gateway site C E device to restrict access from the internet.
