Sort Documents


After completing this topic, you will be able to sort documents.


Steps:

  1. Select the folder containing the files you want to sort.

     

    Click the Editing Techniques folder.

  2. Sort the documents in the view by clicking the column heading for the property on which you want to base the sort.

     

    Click the Type column heading.

  3. Notice that the documents are arranged by Type in ascending order.

     

    To change the sort order again, click the column heading until the triangular indicator points up for an ascending sort or down for a descending sort.

  4. Change the sort by Type to a descending order.

     

    Click the Type column heading.

  5. Sort the documents by name.

     

    Click the Name column heading.

  6. Apply a horizontal layout to the work area.

     

    Click the Horizontal Layout button.

  7. Sort the documents in the bottom area by Name in descending order.

     

    Click the Name column heading in the bottom work area.

  8. Notice that you can sort each work area independently from the other.
