Move a Document in the Outline Editor


After completing this topic, you will be able to move a document  in the Outline Editor.


Steps:

  1. Use the Move buttons on the toolbar to move the Document Basics module above the Applying Formatting module.

     

    Click the Document Basics module.

  2. Click the Move Up button.

  3. The Document Basics module appears above the Applying Formatting module.

     

    Moving a parent document also moves the child documents linked to it.

  4. Drag the Templates section and position it below the Printing a Document topic.

     

    Click the Templates section.

  5. Press the left mouse button and drag the mouse to the desired location.

  6. A yellow arrow and an image of the document indicating the position in the outline appears as you drag.

     

    Continue dragging.

  7. Release the mouse button.

  8. Use cut and paste to move the Using Tables module to the Formatting Paragraphs section.

     

    Click the Using Tables module.

  9. Click the Cut button.

  10. Click the Formatting Paragraphs section.

  11. Paste the module.

     

    Click the Paste button.

  12. You can use Undo to correct any mistakes you make while moving documents in the outline. The Outline Editor holds the undo list in memory until you close the outline.

     

    Click the Undo button to undo the last paste action.

  13. Undo cutting the Using Tables module.

     

    Click the Undo button.
