After completing this topic, you will be able to record sound in the Web Page Editor.
Steps:
You can add sound when you create a new web page or edit an existing web page. In this example, you will edit the web page in the Concept pane.
Click the Edit web page button.
Step 1The Sound Editor toolpane opens when the web page opens. If the Sound Editor does not appear in the Web Page Editor, you can select the View menu, the Panes command, and the Sound Editor command to display it.
Notice the empty waveform in the Sound Editor.
Step 2Record the sound for the web page.
Click the Record sound button.
Step 3The Sound Recorder opens with the Sound button activated. You can start recording immediately.
Step 4Notice that we have already recorded 18 seconds of sound. If you see that your recording levels are not falling in the "Optimal" range, you can pause the recording and adjust the microphone volume.
Step 5Pause the sound recording.
Click the Pause button.
Step 6The Sound Tuning Wizard button is available to adjust the playback and recording levels when you pause the recording.
Note: See Adjust Sound Controls in the Edit Sound section for information about using the Sound Tuning Wizard.
Step 7After adjusting the sound levels, you can either resume recording or restart the recording from the beginning with the new sound recording level.
Notice that we have already recorded 18 seconds.
Click the Restart button.
Step 8After clicking Restart, the recording counter resets to 00:00:00. The recording does not restart until you click Resume.
Before clicking the Resume button, you can speak into your microphone to see if your sound levels are reaching a good modulation and then readjust the volume level as needed. Until you click Resume, your sound is not recorded.
Step 9Start recording.
Click the Resume button.
Step 10Record the sound for the entire web page.
Note: It is a good idea to record the entire sound recording at once. Although you can insert additional sound later, it can be difficult to match the sound level of the original recording.
Step 11When you finish recording, close the Sound Recorder.
Click the OK button.
Step 12The recorded sound appears in the waveform.
Step 13Close the web page.
Click the Close button.
Step 14Save the changes.
Click the Yes button.
Step 15After completing this topic, you are able to record sound in the Web Page Editor.
