Add or Edit a Group


After completing this topic, you will be able to add a new group.


Steps:

  1. Note: You must be logged on as an Administrator to use this feature.

    Step 1
  2. Create a new group for authors developing training for the Human Resources department.

     

    Click the Administration menu.

  3. Click the Manage Groups command.

  4. Click the Add new group button.

    Step 4
  5. Name the group.

     

    Click in the Group Name field.

    Step 5
  6. Enter the desired information into the Group Name field. Enter "HR Team".

  7. Add a description.

     

    Click in the Description field.

  8. Enter the desired information into the field. Enter "HR training team".

  9. Add the group members.

     

    Click the Members tab.

  10. Add ADecarlo to the group.

     

    Click the ADecarlo option.

  11. Add EKramer to the group.

     

    Click the EKramer option.

  12. Add the group permissions.

     

    Click the Permissions tab.

  13. Restrict the group members to Read permission for the System folder.

     

    Click the Add button.

  15. Click the OK button.

  16. The folder is added with Modify permission. Change the permission to Read.

     

    Click the Permission list button.

  17. Click the Read list item.

  18. Click the OK button to close the Add Group dialog box.

  19. Click the Close button to close the Group Management dialog box.

  20. We will switch profiles to an author who is a member of the HR Team group.

  21. ADecarlo is a member of the HR Team group, which has Read permission for the contents of the System folder.

     

    The author has Read permission for the System folder and all of its subfolders.
