Change the End Frame of an Alternative Path


After completing this topic, you will be able to change the end frame of an Alternative Path.


Steps:

  1. To change the end point, you must select the frame before the path joins the primary path.

     

    Click the second F frame in the Alternative Path.

  2. Change the end point of the Alternative Path.

     

    Click the Edit menu.

  3. Click the Modify End Point command.

  4. The mouse pointer changes to the end point arrow.

  5. Select a frame as the new end point for the alternative path.

     

    Click the last F frame in the topic.

     

    Note: If the Alternative Path you are changing also contains Alternative Actions, each of those alternatives must be changed separately.

  6. Save the topic and leave it open.

     

    Click the Save button.

  7. Display the WordPad Training outline.

     

    Click the WordPad Training tab.

  8. Preview the Opening a Document topic in Try It! mode.

     

    Click the Go to button.

  9. Select the start link to begin.

     

    Click the start link.

  10. Click the Alternative Action icon to cycle to the action that prompts you to click the File menu.

     

    Click the Show next Alternative action icon.

  11. Click the File menu, as prompted.

  12. Click the Open command, as prompted.

  13. Notice that the action jumps to the last frame where the action is to click the Open button in the Open dialog box.

  14. Press [Escape] to end the preview.

  15. Undo the change to the end frame of the Alternative Path.

     

    Click the Undo button.
