Personalized content can be taken after a user takes a pre-assessment, post-assessment, or an assessment in the outline (inline assessment). Personalized content is a customized version of the full content based on a user's assessment results. Content that the user has mastered with a passing score in the assessment is not included in the personalized content.

The purpose of the personalized content is to allow a user to complete an objective assessment of his/her skills in the subject matter and then take a subject, or retake a subject, that contains only the content upon which the user needs to focus. Personalized content does not create a new subject outline, but rather filters the full content to show only the content that is necessary for the user to learn.

When you create an assessment, you should include questions based on, and associated with, the subject content. It is particularly important that these questions provide a representative sampling of the subject material if an organization uses the personalized content feature. For content to appear in personalized content, you must associate the questions in the assessment with the content (module, section, or topic) by setting the Associated Content property for each question.

When a user completes an assessment, the Assessment Summary page displays a list of sections upon which assessment questions were based and the user's score on the questions for each section. A user can also choose to add content that has been successfully passed to the personalized content for additional reinforcement. Personalized content can be started from the Assessment Summary page. Users can switch between personalized content and full content at any time. Personalized content is only available if the Knowledge Center administrator has enabled the Personalized Content option for the content.
