Topic Editor - Link a Concept


After completing this topic, you will be able to link a concept using the Topic Editor.


Steps:

  1. Open the Concept toolpane in the Topic Editor.

     

    Click the View menu.

  2. Point to the Panes menu.

  3. Click the Concept command.

  4. Note that the Concept toolpane opens at the bottom of the Topic Editor.

  5. Click the Create link button.

  6. Link to a document in the Library.

     

    Click the Document in Library link.

  7. Browse to the location in the Library where the document you want to link is located. The file is in the Content/Attachments folder.

     

    Double-click the Content folder.

  8. Double-click the Attachments folder.

  9. Select the web page you want to link as the concept.

     

    Click the SaveFile web page.

  10. Click the OK button.

  11. The web page is linked as the concept and appears in the Concept toolpane.

  12. Close the Concept toolpane.

     

    Click the Close button.

  13. Close the topic using the tab Close button.

     

    Click the Close button.

  14. Save the changes made to the topic.

     

    Click the Yes button.

  15. The web page you linked as a concept in the Topic Editor appears in the Concept pane in the Outline Editor.
