Displaying Exceptions or Alerts

You can display exceptions or alerts in:

Tip:

Ensure that Interactive Reporting Studio documents are imported into EPM Workspace as job files.

*  To display exceptions or alerts in Personal Pages:

  1. In EPM Workspace, select an Interactive Reporting job, right-click, and select Subscribe.

  2. Select Personal Pages.

  3. Select Add to Exceptions Dashboard, and click OK.

  4. On the menu bar, select Favorites, then My Personal Page.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of My Personal Page to view the Exceptions Dashboard information.

    If no exception or alert information is displayed, click Refresh button.

*  To display exceptions or alerts in e-mail messages:

  1. In EPM Workspace, select an. Interactive Reporting job, right-click, and select Subscribe.

  2. Select Notifications.

  3. Select Subscribe and send e-mail notifications to.

  4. Enter an e-mail address.

    When an exception or alert occurs in the job, an e-mail is sent to the recipient.

  5. Select exception items, and click OK.

  6. Optional: Select Attach output from <Interactive Reporting document> to email message (if possible).

*  To display exceptions or alerts in dashboards:

  1. In EPM Workspace, select an Interactive Reporting job, right-click, and select Properties.

  2. Under General, then General Properties, select and copy the SmartCut URL.

  3. Click OK to close Properties.

  4. In Interactive Reporting Studio , open the Interactive Reporting document, and select a dashboard frame.

  5. Press Ctrl+D to enter Design mode.

  6. Expand Controls, and drag an Embedded Browser into the frame.

  7. Select the Embedded Browser, right-click, and select Properties.

  8. In URL, paste the SmartCut URL.

  9. Edit the SmartCut URL by changing get to read getexception.

    For example, change: http://oracle.com:19000/workspace/browse/get/MyFolder/Workspace_Alert_Sample_esm?jobOutput=true

    to read: http://oracle.com:19000/workspace/browse/getexception/MyFolder/Workspace_Alert_Sample_esm?jobOutput=true

  10. Click OK to close Properties.

  11. Press Ctrl+D to exit Design mode.

  12. Enter your user name and password to log on to EPM Workspace.

    An alert traffic light icon is displayed. The icon image is determined by EPM Workspace.

  13. Hover your mouse over the alert icon to display the document name and alert message.

  14. Click the alert icon to launch EPM Workspace.

  15. Optional: If you have configured a Personal Page in EPM Workspace to display exceptions or alerts, select Favorites, then My Personal Page, and scroll to the bottom of the page to view the Exceptions Dashboard information.

  16. Refresh the alerts in EPM Workspace by clicking Refresh button.

    The listed alerts messages are updated.
