Highlighting Map Features with the Maps Component

This topic explains how to configure a map to show trends for key states or localities by using a technique called spotlighting. The topic assumes that the dashboard contains prebuilt maps and all necessary Interactive Reporting Studio sections. To spotlight a map based on conditions or elements that are not presented in these examples, replace the columns and variables with other values.

Procedures to spotlight a map:

  1. Merge the component. See Merging Components.

  2. Create summary tables.

  3. Spotlight the map.

Tip:

Renaming a map frame in a dashboard must be performed before spotlighting the map.

Note:

Frame prototypes that contain map images are available in the Maps component and in the Frame_Library.bqy in the templates folder.
