You can export alias tables from databases to .alt files, and then import the tables to another database.
After you export a file, you can use a text editor to view or change the contents of the export file.
To export an alias table:
Select Outline, then Export alias table.
In the Export Alias Table dialog box, select an alias table and click OK.
In the Save As dialog box, specify a location for the export file.
Perform an action:
To save the export file on an Essbase Server:
Select the Essbase Server tab.
In the Look in list box, select the Essbase Server where you want to save the export file.
Navigate to the application or database where you want to save the export file.
To save the export file locally or on a network:
Select the File System tab.
Navigate to the file system directory where you want to save the file.
In the File name text box, type a name for the file.
Export files have an .alt extension.
Click OK.
Optional: Import the alias table to a database.
