A data source is a file (Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, spreadsheet audit log, text file, or Essbase export file) that contains data or members.
Data sources can be located on Essbase Server, on client computers, or on networks.
To open data sources:
Select File, then Open data file.
In the Open dialog box, select the Essbase Server tab (to find files stored on Essbase Server) or the File System tab (to find files saved locally or on the network), and navigate to the preferred file.
Select a file and click OK.
If you are prompted for encoding, accept the default (Essbase Server) or select the encoding.
If necessary, set the file delimiters.
The data file is displayed in the top pane of Data Prep Editor.
