Selecting Records

Within data load and dimension build rules files, you can define one or more selection criteria (string and number conditions) to determine which records are loaded.

  To define selection criteria:

  1. Open or create a rules file.

  2. Select a field.

  3. Select Record, then Select.

  4. In the Select Record dialog box, define a criterion.

  5. Optional: To define another selection criterion:

    1. Click New.

    2. Repeat steps 2–3.

    3. Select AND (to require the field to meet all criteria) or OR (to require the field to meet any one criterion).

  6. Optional: To define selection criteria on multiple fields:

    1. Repeat steps 2–5.

    2. Specify how Administration Services combines criteria.
