When you stop databases, Essbase unloads the databases from memory on the Essbase Server and commits updated data to disk. Thus, on the server computer, you increase available memory.
To stop one database:
From Enterprise View or a custom view, select the database.
Right-click, and select Stop.
To stop all databases of an application:
From Enterprise View or a custom view, select the application.
Right-click, and select Stop, and then All databases.
