Searching Locations

Use the Search and Select: Location screen to search locations either by matching all or any location names or by using additional source system name and target application name criteria. You can toggle between a basic search or an advanced search. In an advanced search, you can specify search operators that joins keywords for location, source system or target application names. For example, you can instruct the search to return only those locations that “start with” the letter “k”.

  To perform a basic location search:

  1. In the POV bar, click Search Location (Image shows Search icon).

    The Search and Select Location screen is displayed.

  2. Click Basic.

  3. In Match, click either All or Any.

    Match Any evaluates as an OR condition. Match All evaluates as an AND condition.

  4. In Location, enter the full or partial string of the dimension name.

  5. Optional: To search for a location based on a specific source system, in Source System Name, enter the name of the source system.

  6. Optional: To search for a location based on a specific target application, in Target Application, enter the name of the target application.

  7. Click Search.

    The data grid is populated based on the search criteria.

  8. From the location grid, select a location and click OK.

  To perform an advanced location search:

  1. From the Load Data screen, click Search Location (Image shows Search icon).

    The Search and Select Location screen is displayed.

  2. Click Advanced.

  3. In Match, click either All or Any.

    Match Any evaluates as an OR condition. Match All evaluates as an AND condition,

  4. In the Location operator drop-down, select the location operator, and then enter the full or partial string in the search box. Location operators include:

    • Starts with

    • Ends with

    • Equals

    • Does not equal

    • Less than

    • Greater than

    • Less than or equal to

    • Greater than or equal to

    • Between

    • Not between

    • Contains

    • Is blank

    • Is not blank

  5. In the Source System Name operator drop-down, select the source system name operator, and then enter the full or partial string in the search box. Source system name operators include:

    • Starts with

    • Ends with

    • Equals

    • Does not equal

    • Less than

    • Greater than

    • Less than or equal to

    • Greater than or equal to

    • Between

    • Not between

    • Contains

    • Is blank

    • Is not blank

  6. In the Target Application operator drop-down, select the target application name operator, and then enter the full or partial string in the search box. Target application name operators include:

    • Starts with

    • Ends with

    • Equals

    • Does not equal

    • Less than

    • Greater than

    • Less than or equal to

    • Greater than or equal to

    • Between

    • Not between

    • Contains

    • Is blank

    • Is not blank

  7. Click Search.

    The data grid is populated based on the search criteria.

  8. From the location grid, select a location and click OK.
