Using the Workbench POV Bar

The POV bar shows the current:

Location
Period
Category

The Source System and Target Application are displayed as context information.

A locked or unlocked symbol is shown next to the Source System and Target Application information. The symbol indicates if the location, period or category are locked. Image shows Locked symbol ) or unlocked ( Image shows Unlocked symbol ). Locking the POV prevents categories and periods from being modified.

Selecting the Location POV

When users log on, the location POV is set to the user's default location. Users can view only locations that they have permission to access. Location permission is determined and granted by system administrators.

To select another Location POV:

From the Task pane, select Data Load Workbench.
In the *Location field, click .
The Search and Select: Location screen is displayed.
In the Search and Select: Location screen, enter a full or partial string in the Location, Source System Name, or Target Application fields and click OK.

Searching Locations

Use the Search and Select: Location screen to search locations either by matching all or any location names or by using additional source system name and target application name criteria. You can toggle between a basic search or an advanced search. In an advanced search, you can specify search operators that joins keywords for location, source system or target application names. For example, you can instruct the search to return only those locations that “start with” the letter “k”.

To perform a basic location search:

In the POV bar, click Search Location ().
The Search and Select Location screen is displayed.
Click Basic.
In Match, click either All or Any.
Match Any evaluates as an OR condition. Match All evaluates as an AND condition.
In Location, enter the full or partial string of the dimension name.
Optional: To search for a location based on a specific source system, in Source System Name, enter the name of the source system.
Optional: To search for a location based on a specific target application, in Target Application, enter the name of the target application.
Click Search.
The data grid is populated based on the search criteria.
From the location grid, select a location and click OK.

To perform an advanced location search:

From the Load Data screen, click Search Location ().
The Search and Select Location screen is displayed.
Click Advanced.
In Match, click either All or Any.
Match Any evaluates as an OR condition. Match All evaluates as an AND condition,
In the Location operator drop-down, select the location operator, and then enter the full or partial string in the search box. Location operators include:
- Starts with
- Ends with
- Equals
- Does not equal
- Less than
- Greater than
- Less than or equal to
- Greater than or equal to
- Between
- Not between
- Contains
- Is blank
- Is not blank
In the Source System Name operator drop-down, select the source system name operator, and then enter the full or partial string in the search box. Source system name operators include:
- Starts with
- Ends with
- Equals
- Does not equal
- Less than
- Greater than
- Less than or equal to
- Greater than or equal to
- Between
- Not between
- Contains
- Is blank
- Is not blank
In the Target Application operator drop-down, select the target application name operator, and then enter the full or partial string in the search box. Target application name operators include:
- Starts with
- Ends with
- Equals
- Does not equal
- Less than
- Greater than
- Less than or equal to
- Greater than or equal to
- Between
- Not between
- Contains
- Is blank
- Is not blank
Click Search.
The data grid is populated based on the search criteria.
From the location grid, select a location and click OK.

Setting the Period POV

Users can select the Period POV if the POV is not locked. In this case, the default user level Period POV profile is available from which a user can select another accounting period. If the Period POV is locked, the default application level Period POV profile is available only.

To select another Period POV:

From the Task pane, select Write-Back Workbench.
In the POV bar, click Search Period ().
The Search and Select Period screen is displayed.
Select a period and click OK.

Setting the Category POV

Users can select the Category POV if the POV is not locked. In this case, the default user level Category POV profile is available from which a user can select another scenario. If the Period POV is locked, the default application level Category POV profile is available only.

To select another Period POV:

From the Task pane, select Data Load Workbench.
In the POV bar, select a Category from the Category drop-down.
