Essbase, by default, is deployed to work in Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and non-SSL modes. In SSL mode, all communication between Essbase Server and Essbase Studio Server is encrypted to ensure data security. Default deployments of Essbase components install self-signed certificates to enable SSL communication, mainly for testing purposes. Oracle recommends that you use certificates from well-known third-party certification authorities (CAs) to SSL-enable Essbase in production environments. See the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Security Administration Guide for more information.test
