Modifying Bindings in an Alias Set

You can modify bindings in an alias set.

  To modify a binding:

  1. In Essbase Studio Console, select Tools, and then Alias Set Manager.

  2. Under Alias Sets, select the alias set.

  3. Under Bindings, select the binding.

  4. Click the Edit the selected binding button to the right of Bindings to display the Edit a Binding dialog box.

    The top pane displays the current binding syntax.

  5. Perform an action:

    • Enter the binding expression into the top pane of the dialog box; the syntax is:

      connection : \'<logical_source_name'::'<physical_data_source_name>.<physical_table_name>'.'<physical_column_name>'

    • In the physical tree in the bottom pane of the text box, navigate to the column in the physical data source that you want to use to generate a binding expression. Double-click the column name to add it as a binding expression to the text column.

      Tip:

      If you are using this method, Oracle recommends that you clear the text from the top pane of the dialog box before you begin.

  6. When the binding is modified, click OK to return to the Alias Set Manager.
