Saving Data Grid Settings

You can save frequently used data grid settings. By saving your grid settings, you can reduce the time that you spend selecting dimensions for the rows and columns. After you save a grid, the grid name is displayed in the Documents list on the Data Grids tab.

The data grid saves the grid layout and the dimensions selected for the rows and columns, but does not retain the member selections for the Scenario, Period, Year or Entity dimensions. Whenever you make a change to the Scenario, Period, Year, or Entity members in a data grid, the change is reflected in all the saved data grids the next time that you open them.

  To save grid settings:

  1. From a data grid, click Save Settings.

  2. Enter a name for the grid settings.

The name can have a maximum of 20 characters, including spaces.

  3. Optional: Enter a grid description.

The description can be a maximum of 255 characters, including spaces.

  4. Optional: Select a security class for the grid.

  5. Optional: Select Private if you want the grid to be private.
