The Allocation Genealogy report calculates the allocation detail for source and destination intersections that do not have an assignment, but which have an indirect relationship.
Example of Allocation Genealogy Report Selections
The sample report above shows the layout of dimensions used to create the allocation genealogy report:
AllocationType set to GenealogyAllocation
All dimensions in other stages are set to NoMember.
Start point intersections
End point intersections
To report on Allocation genealogy:
Generate and calculate the Essbase cube for the model, as outlined in Calculating Models.
From your reporting application, connect to the Essbase cube.
In the Source Stage, select members from each dimension in the stage that is the starting point.
In the Destination Stage, select members from each dimension in the stage that is the ending point.
Note: | If there is an intrastage allocation, use the dimensions with the suffix _intra to specify the destination intersections. |
From the AllocationType dimension, select GenealogyAllocation.
From the Measures dimension, select the measures on which you want to report. See Measures Dimension.
For all other dimensions, including dimensions for intermediate stages between the start and end point stages, select NoMember.
Using instructions for your reporting application, run the report.
