Selecting Target Entities

  To add target entities to ECM documents:

  1. Open an ECM document.

    See Accessing Entity Change Management (ECM) Documents.

  2. Select Target Files.

  3. Select Edit, then Add Target Entity.

  4. Select a Selection Method option for locating entities:

    • Select Entities by Name

      Default. Displays all available entities.

      Note:

      You can change only those to which you have change access.

    • Exclude Entities by Name

      Select this option to exclude selected entities. For example, you could use this option to filter the list and manage changes to entities based on a template, but exclude a couple individual entities from that group. Excluded entities are listed on Target Entities.

    • Select Entities by Source Template

      Select this option and, in Template Name, enter the template to list only entities based on that template.

    • Select Entities by Entity Group

      Select this option and, in Entity Group, enter an entity group to list only entities in that group.

  5. In Select one or many and click Add, select target entities and click Add.

    Target entities display on Target Entities.

  6. Optional: Select Show Entities Flat to deactivate the tree display.

  7. Optional: Select Apply to Children to copy ECM document changes to children of target entities.

    Available only if you select Entity Name (exclude).

  8. Click Close.
