Literals (Constants)

This section describes the types of literals.

Note:

In case of ambiguity, literals are interpreted based on the context in which they are used. For example, the same symbol may be interpreted as a string, a cell variable, a dimension, or a member.

In the following example, because the function previous takes a hierarchy for its parameter, the symbol Manufacturing is interpreted as the default hierarchy of the Manufacturing dimension

"Ending Inventory Units"[previous(Manufacturing)]
