Advanced Properties: Pie Chart

PropertyDescription

Segment

How pie chart segments display.

  • Quantity—Quantity for each pie segment.

  • Percentage—Percent-of-total figures for each pie segment.

  • Explode—What pie segments are exploded. If Max, the largest segment is exploded. If Min, the smallest segment is exploded. (An exploded pie segment stands out from the rest of the pie chart.)

Other Slice

Which segments are grouped in the Other slice. You can use the other slice to group pie segments that are below a certain percentage or value.

  • Threshold Method—Grouping method for the Other slice:

    • Value—Threshold Value defined as a data value. Places into the Other slice only those items that are less than the Threshold Value. Select Value when you know the data value to group in the Other slice.

    • Percent—Threshold Value defined as a percent value. Places into the Other slice only those items that are accumulatively less than the Threshold Value. Select Percent when you want a certain percentage of the pie to be grouped in the Other slice.

  • Threshold Value—Data value to group in the Other slice.

    • If the Threshold Method is set to Value, valid entries are numbers greater than or equal to 0.

    • If the Threshold Method is set to Percent, valid entries are numbers within the range of 0 to 100.

Default = 0 (no Other slice)

3D-effect

Displays data with a three-dimensional appearance.

  • Depth—Depth as a percentage of the chart's width. No 3D effect appears unless Depth is greater than zero. Default = 10 percent.

  • Elevation—Position above the horizontal axis, in degrees. Default = 45 degrees.

  • Rotation—Number of degrees to the right of the vertical axis. Default = 40 degrees.

Sort Order

Order in which the slices are displayed.

  • Largest—Displays slices from largest to smallest.

  • Smallest—Displays slices from smallest to largest.

  • Data Order—Displays slices in the order they appear in the data.

Default = Data Order

Start Angle

Point at which the first pie slice is drawn. Slices are drawn clockwise from the Start Angle. Valid values range from 0 to 359 degrees.

A value of zero degrees represents a horizontal line from the center of the pie to the right-hand side of the pie chart.

A value of 90 degrees represents a vertical line from the center to the top of the pie chart.

The default position for the first pie segment is 135 degrees.

Fill

Styles and colors in the chart's fill areas.

If you choose more styles than colors, SQR Production Reporting Studio maps the styles and colors in order until it reaches the last style which is mapped back to the first color. The same holds true if there are more colors than styles.

  • Style—Style(s) to use.

If you use multiple styles on a Pie chart, the styles are applied to each pie segment.

  • Color—Colors(s) to apply to the styles. Choose one color for each style, or one color for all the styles.

The color palette selected in the Palette tab is used to display the available color choices. You can use the default palette, add or delete any colors in the default palette, or define a new palette.

Other Label

Name of the label for the “other” slice.

Label Location

Location of the label for the “other” slice. Select auto, inner, or outer.

Percentage Precision

Number of digits to the right of the decimal point when defining the “slice percentage” of the whole.

Outline

Style and color of the outline around each pie slice.

  • Style(s)—Outline style

  • Color(s)—Color(s) to apply to the styles. Select one color for each style, or one color for all the styles. Select symbol colors in the range of RGB.
