DataDescription

Name

Name of the chart.

Function Type

Operation to perform on the data retrieved. Function types include: Summation, Average, Count, Minimum, and Maximum.

Y-Axis

Column to chart on the Y-axis. (If this is a combo chart, this is the Y-axis of the first chart.) Available columns include the expressions and numeric columns defined in the query, and the calculated fields defined in the report layout.

Y2-Axis

Combo charts only. Column to chart on the second chart’s Y-axis. Available columns include the expressions and numeric columns defined in the query, and the calculated fields defined in the report layout. If combo is not selected as the chart type, Y2-Axis is disabled.

X-Axis

Column to chart on the X-axis. Available columns include the columns defined in the query.

X-Axis Series

How to group rows on the chart. (Not applicable for Pie, Floating Bar, High Low Close, Bubble, Radar, Polar, or Area Radar charts.)

Height/Width

Height and width of the chart in points.

Color Palette

Colors in the chart's color palette.

Gradient Color

Color used for the gradient fill area on a chart.

Radar Grid TypeRadar, Area Radar, and Polar charts only. Type of grid lines displayed in the chart. Select Circular or Webbed.

3D Effect

Displays the chart as a three-dimensional chart.

Border

Draws a border around the chart.

Point Markers

Displayed for line charts.

Color

Chart colors. To define a color, click the arrow to the right of Foreground or Background and select a color from the Color Palette that appears.

You can define colors in the following areas:

  • Chart—The background of a Chart report or the area in a Tabular report where the chart prints.

  • Chart Area—The area immediately surrounding the chart.

  • Plot Area—The area where the chart is plotted.

  • Header—The name of the chart. If you define a header in the Name field, it prints at the top of the chart.

  • Footer —The chart’s subtitle. If you define a footer in the Subtitle field, it prints directly below the Header.

To define a custom color, click Custom Colors at the bottom of the Color Palette.
