Use the Horizontal ruler to help position the objects in your report. To display this ruler, go to the View menu and check Horizontal Ruler.
To select how to display the ruler, choose View, then Units, and select one of the following options:
You can also change the units by clicking the button in the left-hand corner of the layout between the horizontal and vertical rulers. As you click the button, it changes between in, cm, and pt.
To define a default value for the units, choose File/Edit, then Preferences and enter a value under Display Units in the View tab (see View Preferences).
