Note:

Changes to the Preview Options (Use Internal Browser for Preview, Limit to, No Date Mask Warnings) and the Run Parameters affect both the current report and any new reports. Changes to the Start In Directories take effect in the next report (they do not affect the report that is currently open).

PreferenceDescription

Use Internal Browser for Preview

Uses an internal browser to preview reports. If not selected, or if your internal browser is not available, SQR Production Reporting Studio previews reports in an SPF format.

Limit to

Limits the pages displayed in the Report window. This increases performance but ignores any defined sort orders.

No Date Mask Warnings

DisablesY2K warning messages generated by Production Reporting when using two-digit year date masks.

Run Parameters

Specifies default command-line flags or parameters for each report type, as well as for reports written through the SQR Production Reporting Studio Editor. All of these fields are optional. For example, you could enter the following for the Tabular report, but leave all the other fields blank.

-PRINTER:LP -Mtabfile

Production Reporting supports several flags. Each flag begins with a dash (-). Flags with arguments must be followed directly by the argument with no intervening space. See Command-line Flags in Volume 2 of the Hyperion SQR Production Reporting Developer's Guide for a detailed list of Production Reporting command-line flags.

Start in Directories

Defines default directories in the following areas:

  • Reports—Default directory to display when opening new reports.

  • Templates—Default directory to display when opening new templates.

Command Line

Shows the latest command line used to generate Production Reporting report output. Includes all command line keywords and switches needed to reproduce the same report output in a report created outside of SQR Production Reporting Studio. If Production Reporting report output has not yet been generated, No Command Line at this time is displayed. You can edit the command line if desired.

Don’t Validate Query Expressions at Document Load-time

Defines whether to validate expressions when opening existing reports.

If selected,SQR Production Reporting Studio does not validate any expression fields when you open an existing report.

If not selected and an invalid expression exists in the report, an error message appears when opening the report. (At this point, you can click Ignore to load the report and then fix the error before report execution.)
