Database Tab

Displays the query(s) that have been created for your report. From this tab, you can insert fields into your report layout.

To insert a report field from the Database tab, use one of the following options:

In addition to inserting fields into your report layout, you can use the Database tab to view the relationship between queries and add to or modify these relationships.

New

Accesses the Query Builder, where you can define a new query for your report. Depending on the option you select, you can create a Detail Query (see Creating a Single-Row Detail Query), another Master Query also known as a sequential query (see Creating Sequential Queries), or an Initialization Query (see Creating an Initialization Query).

Edit

Accesses the query builder, where you can edit information in an existing query. To edit a query, click on the name of the query or any column in the query and click Edit.

Delete

Deletes an existing detail query. To delete a detail query, click on the name of the detail query or any column in the detail query and click Delete. (You cannot delete the master query from the Database tab. If you click on the name of the master query or any of the columns in the master query, the Delete button disables.)

Rename

Renames a detail query. To rename a detail query, click on the name of the detail query and click Rename. (If you click on any of the columns in the detail query, the Rename button is disabled.)

Bind

Accesses the Master-Detail Binding dialog box, where you can bind a detail query to a master query. To access this dialog box, click on the name of the detail query or any field in the detail query and click Bind. (If you click on the name of a master query or any of the fields in the master query, the Bind button disables.)

Move Up/Move/Down

Rearrange the query order. You can only move queries up and down at the same levels. For example, you can move one detail query above another detail query, but you cannot move a detail query above a master query.
