Configuring the Google Search Appliance to Call the OneBox Module

A OneBox Module must be created and added to an existing or new front end. See the on-line help in the Google Search Appliance administrative pages for detailed information on this process.

To configure the Google Search Appliance to call the OneBox module:

  1. Log in to the Google Search Appliance administrative interface.

    http:<gsa host>:8000/EnterpriseController

  2. From the menu on the left of the page, select Serving, then select OneBox Modules.

  3. In OneBox Name, enter a name for the OneBox module and click Create Module Definition.

A new page is displayed where you can enter the rest of the module information.

  4. In Provider, click External Provider and enter the URL of the OneBox Module as follows:

    https:/<workspace host>:<secure workspace port>/workspace/onebox

  5. Still in Provider, go to Search-User Access Control and select Basic.

  6. Click Save OneBox Definition.

  7. Find the OneBox module in the list of modules and click Edit.

  8. In OneBox Stylesheet Template, click Edit XSL, and click Import to import System9-onebox.xsl.

This file is automatically installed and can be found in EPM Oracle home/common/Search/11.1.2.0/lib/OneBox.

  9. Click Save XSLT Stylesheet.

You must now decide whether to add the OneBox module to an existing front end or create a new front end.

To create a new front end:

  1. From the menu on the left of the page, select Front Ends.

  2. In Front End Name, enter a name for the new front end and click Create New Front End.

  3. To the right of the new front end, click Edit.

A new page is displayed where you can enter the rest of the front end information.

  4. Click OneBox Modules.

  5. In Available Modules, select the OneBox module and transfer it to Selected Modules.

  6. Click Save Settings.

To add the module to an existing front end, follow the steps above. In Step 3, select Edit next to the desired front end.

Note:

The configuration items for Format, KeyMatch, Related Queries, Filters, and Remove URLs are beyond the scope of these instructions. You do not need to change any of them for the Google Search Appliance to use the OneBox module. See the Google Search Appliance documentation for more information on these items.
