This document explains how to use the sample files that are provided to help you learn about this release of Oracle Hyperion® Data Integration Management Adapter for Translation Manager. Review this information thoroughly before attempting to use the sample files.
Data Integration Management is integrated with Informatica PowerCenter. It provides a way of uniting disparate sources of data across an enterprise. For example, it can integrate data stored in multiple warehouses and data marts, relational database management systems (RDBMS), and on-line analytical processing (OLAP) stores.
Data Integration Management includes these components:
· PowerCenter applications:
· PowerCenter Client
· PowerCenter Server
When you have installed and configured Data Integration Management 11.1.1.1, you can install and configure adapters that enable you to retrieve and write data for these other Hyperion products:
· Oracle Hyperion® Data Integration Management Adapter for Hyperion Enterprise®
· Oracle Hyperion® Data Integration Management Adapter for Essbase®
· Oracle Hyperion® Data Integration Management Adapter for Financial Management
· Oracle Hyperion® Data Integration Management Adapter for Planning
· Oracle Hyperion® Data Integration Management Adapter for Translation Manager
· Oracle Hyperion® Data Integration Management Adapter for Planning
You can use the following procedure with any Adapter for Translation Manager sample mapping.
To use an Adapter for Translation Manager sample mapping :
1. In Translation Manager:
a. create a Rules Table with following details for use with the sample mappings:
• Name: SampleTranslation
• Number of Input Column: 1
• Input Column Name: Input
• Number of Output Column: 1
• Output Column Name: Output
b. Import the rules from Sample\data\RuleExamples.txt into the table.
c. Save the table.
d. Ensure that user named admin exists and has the ownership to this table.
2. Ensure that a Hyperion Translation Manager connection exists: Select Connections > Application in Workflow Manager.
3. Import the mapping in Designer and save it.
4. Create a task of the Session type for this mapping in Workflow Manager, or use Wizard to create a workflow directly.
5. Change the source flat file directory name and file name as needed to use Sample/data/RuleExamplesValidation.txt as the source file.
6. (Optional) Change the target flat file directory name and file name to correspond with the changes in the preceding step.
7. Ensure that the application connection for the SampleTranslation points to the correct Hyperion Translation Manager connection.
8. Create a workflow with the task, and run the workflow.
This sample performs data translation based on translation rules defined in Hyperion Translation Manager. In the mapping, data is read from the source flat file, translation is performed midstream in the Translation Manager adapter, and the translated data is written to the target flat file.
