This document includes important, late-breaking information about this release of Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance (Strategic Finance). Review this Readme thoroughly before installing Strategic Finance.

·         After upgrading to this release, you can update stored references to the Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, Fusion Edition, or Oracle's Hyperion® Enterprise® servers in the maps and batches that you may use to import or export data. You can also perform a bulk update of Oracle Hyperion Essbase server names as part of the upgrade.

·         The Debt Scheduler now optionally supports the calculation of interest on a 360-day basis, as well as on a 365-day basis.

·         For new features relating to installation, architecture, and deployment changes in this release, see “New Features” in the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation Readme.

Late-breaking information about installation of EPM System products is provided in the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation Readme. Review this information thoroughly before installing EPM System products.

NOTE: If you upgraded from release 11.1.1.3, perform the required post installation and configuration tasks described in the next section.

After Upgrading from Release 11.1.1.3

Perform these steps after upgrading from release 11.1.1.3 as described in Chapter 3 of the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Guide:

1.    Navigate to %EPM_ORACLE_HOME%/products/hsf/scripts.

2.    Open setenv.bat in any text editor.

Important: You must make changes in setenv.bat before running the provisioningmigrator tool.

3.    Locate this portion of code:

4.    Enter the Oracle Instance directory after set EPM_ORACLE_INSTANCE. For example, set EPM_ORACLE_INSTANCE=C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1.

5.    Save and close the file.

 

IBM DB2 Client Requirement

To use an IBM DB2 database with this release of Strategic Finance, you must have a minimal installation of the IBM DB2 client.

Running Web services for 32-bit Applications on Microsoft Windows 64-bit Systems

If you cannot use the web service on a Windows 2003 64-bit operating system, enable 32-bit apps in IIS as follows:

1.    Open a command prompt and navigate to %systemdrive%\Inetpub\AdminScripts.

2.    Enter this command:cscript.exe adsutil.vbs get W3SVC/AppPools/Enable32BitAppOnWin64

3.    If the command returns "false", run this command; setting it to "true":

cscript.exe adsutil.vbs set W3SVC/AppPools/Enable32BitAppOnWin64 "true"

4.    Restart your computer.

Installing and Configuring Oracle® Crystal Ball EPM Fusion Edition

To use Strategic Finance with Crystal Ball, ensure that you have:

·         Release 11.1.1.1.00 or higher of Crystal Ball and a valid Crystal Ball Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) license feature

·         A supported version, identified in the Crystal Ball documentation, of Microsoft Excel

·         Install Microsoft Excel, Crystal Ball, and the Strategic Finance client on the same computer.

After installing Crystal Ball, perform these registration steps:

1.    From a command prompt, access HYPERION_HOME\products\hsf\bin\CoHSF

2.    Enter: cohsf/regserver

3.    Access HYPERION_HOME\products\hsf\bin

4.    Enter: hsf /regserver

Installing Oracle® Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management

Financial Data Quality Management (FDM) is an out-of-the-box data transformation tool providing source-level financial data to consolidation, reporting, planning, and analytical applications. For information on the feature, refer to Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance Administrator’s Guide, and the Financial Data Quality Management documentation.

To use this release of Strategic Finance with FDM, perform these tasks:

·         Install the following:

o    Release 11.1.1.x.xx of FDM

o    The FDM EPM Adapter Suite

o    The Strategic Finance client, server, and HSFWebServices component.

·         Access the Internet Information Services Management console and configure Web Extensions/ASP.NET to Allowed. See the Microsoft Internet Information Services documentation for details.

 

Resolving External Database Connections

If you cannot connect to external databases or use extended analytics as described in Chapter 4 of the Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance Administrator’s Guide, use these connection strings:

Note: {hostname} can be an IP address, un-qualified host name, or fully-qualified host name.

Notes:

·         If you are starting from Release 9.2.x, Oracle recommends the following upgrade path: 9.2.0 to 9.2.1 to 11.1.2.1

·         If you are starting from Release 9.3.x, Oracle recommends the following upgrade path: 9.3.0 to 9.3.1 to 9.3.3 to 11.1.2.1

·         If you are starting from Release 11.1.1.x, Oracle  recommends the following upgrade path: 11.1.1.0 or 11.1.1.1 or 11.1.1.2 to 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1

·         If you are starting from an earlier release, Oracle recommends that you upgrade to the highest level release that directly supports upgrade from your starting release.

·         Security Synchronization between Essbase and Shared Services was removed in Essbase Release 9.3, starting with Release 9.3.1.4.1. Essbase and Shared Services Release 11.1.1.3, however, still synchronize security information. For this reason, if you are using Essbase Release 9.3.1.4.1, 9.3.1.5, 9.3.1.6, or 9.3.1.7, you must first upgrade all products to Release 9.3.3, as recommended above. Upgrading to Release 11.1.1.3 is not an option for these Essbase releases.

• 6555703	When exporting or copying reports to Microsoft Excel from Strategic Finance, the zero value accounts are not suppressed even though they are suppressed on the reports in Strategic Finance.
• 6900520	Entity Change Management (ECM) does not provide a "Don't Calculate Inputs" option that you can select when changing the time period from years to months.
• 7313829	When copying an existing Enterprise Content Management (ECM) from another ECM, the security does not copy over.
• 9197703	After creating a parent/child entity structure on the Strategic Finance server, the child entity is not displayed as a valid entity in the Crystal Ball HSF setup wizard.
• 9267829	You cannot perform .XML or .TXT based batch security exports.
• 9400243	You cannot specify access to entities that enables users to add children without being allowed to check entities out.
• 9400252	When changing the fiscal year end for an entity, the last actual and last historical period might be set to an incorrect value.
• 9401119	Database exports export NULL values for stored dates.
• 9401128	When converting from older releases, entities saved with the Actual scenario active were not flagged as completely calculated and could not be checked in.
• 9532857	Enumerated values are not correctly displayed on reports if the values exceed the column width.
• 9532871	You receive a "Time period error: Error number 1104" error when saving an entity as a template using the Financial Data Only option.
• 9792486	The Server name field limits the number of characters that you can specify for Essbase connections.
• 9865005	Enterprise Content Management (ECM) does not allow you to apply forecasts or calculation changes to subaccounts.
• 10018022	Data for account groups that you select when using the equity method do not roll up.
• 10018025 • 9958328	Print options are not saved.
• 10083796	Accounts containing Unicode characters in their name in Essbase export as 0 (zero) or #MISSING data.
• 10109329	Although displayed as started, the Strategic Finance service does not start and an error is displayed if the Shared Services EPM Registry connection time exceeds the 30 second default timeout.
• 10113414	Stored dates do not display correctly on reports.
• 10154830	If you installed the Strategic Finance Server and the Essbase server on the same computer, you cannot run batch imports from Essbase to Strategic Finance.

• 7407918 • 8654445 • 8653568	The consolidation for particular accounts is incorrect. For example, Entity 4190 has 579 of Income Tax Receivable in 2010 and the parent has 562, or the other way around. The other entity in that part of the consolidation structure is empty.
• 9110284	You cannot add accounts to build in groups.
• 8498653 8493894	To rename related accounts you cannot enter the replacement name in the "Replace With" field and click "Replace".  To rename accounts, you must first click "Find Next" and then "Replace".
• 8418993	You cannot enter cell text to the input or subtotal levels for accounts with assigned dimensions.
• 8419928	The input accounts option is incorrectly enabled after you disabled it when adding new subaccounts.
• 8581909	You receive a general point failure on the server when updating freestyle reports.
• 8496044 • 8482900	When creating a freestyle report, the Assign Cell Attributes dialog box closes unexpectedly when you select a second cell to format.
• 8495708	When creating a freestyle report and specifying cell attributes, you cannot release the "Account" and "Other" buttons.
• 8653788	Titles and the top row in reports do not print or display correctly in print preview.
• 7407918 • 8968564	Data that you try to export to Extended Analytics may fail and a funds flow out of balance message written to the event log.
• 8704738	You cannot use PKZip as described in the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Strategic Finance Administrator’s Guide.
• 7407918	The @LIKEPD function is not described in the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Strategic Finance User Guide.
• 8704824	The LOG(N) function in Tab accounts is not provided or documented.
• 7407918	The documentation does not describe how to use the @LIKEPD, @LOG, and @LN functions.
• 7256856	The procedure for creating formulas in freestyle reports is inaccurate.
• 8550083	You cannot assign cell attributes using the shortcut.

• 10248026	The context sensitive help for some dialog boxes and tabs may not display.
• 10364203	Hyperion Enterprise import and export interoperability is supported with Strategic Finance. Hyperion Enterprise batch import and export interoperability is not supported.
• 10386401	There are two missing cross references in the User Guide: When selecting File, then Import, and then Convert. When selecting File, and then Create From HSF Link.
• 10387385	An incorrect Get First Day value may be returned for a subperiod that is a period-to-date or trailing period.
