This document includes important, late-breaking information about this release of Oracle® Financial Management Analytics. Review this Readme thoroughly before installing Oracle Financial Management Analytics.
This is the first release of Oracle Financial Management Analytics, an analytical application that provides executive access to a unified financial and nonfinancial picture of the performance of an organization through a series of dashboards.
Prebuilt analytics display key performance indicators, Financial Close Process status and other metrics using consolidated data from existing Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, Fusion Edition and Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Management applications. The dashboards enable users to analyze the data in an accessible format, according to various business-financial scenarios.
The Configuration Utility enables users to map their application specific metadata to the predefined analytics. The configuration utility also enables integration between the EPM applications and Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition Plus (OBIEE). Security is managed through Web Logic and honors the security access rights for Financial Management, based on existing authorization and access for the selected applications.
Additionally, the analytics may be extended to include other data sources.
For detailed information about the concepts and usage of Oracle Financial Management Analytics, see the following guides:
· Oracle Financial Management Analytics Dashboard User's Guide
· Oracle Financial Management Analytics Dashboard Administrator's Guide
Oracle Financial Management Analytics Release 11.1.2.1 has a separate, stand-alone installation program. It is not included in the Enterprise Performance Management System Installer and Configurator. For details on how to install and configure Oracle Financial Management Analytics, as well as prerequisites for installation, see the Oracle Financial Management Analytics Administrator's Guide.
In some Windows 2003 SP1 installations, you may experience an “Access Denied” message while connecting from Financial Management Win32 or Financial Management Web. The client machine event log will show a “General access denied" error.
Microsoft has provided the following workaround to resolve a code issue with their RPC layer by disabling bind time negotiation for security context multiplexing.
To disable bind time negotiation for security context multiplexing, you must install hotfix Q899148 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899148).
Contact Microsoft Support directly for the Hot Fix.
After the Hotfix is obtained, follow these steps:
1. Select Start > Run, type regedit, and click OK.
2. Locate the following registry subkey:
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
NT\Rpc
3. Select Edit > New, and select DWORD Value.
4. Enter Server2003NegotiateDisable for the new DWORD Value.
5. Right-click Server2003NegotiateDisable and click Modify.
6. In the Value Data dialog box, type 1, and click OK.
Note: This setting disables the bind time
negotiation and multiple transfer syntax negotiation.
7. Exit the Registry Editor. Restart the Windows Server 2003-based computer.
Note: Hot Fix must be applied to all machines using Windows 2003 SP1 (App server, Web server, Reports Servers, etc.). If Win32 client is not being used, applying Hot Fix to the client machine is not necessary.
