Installation Information

Late-breaking information about installation of EPM System products is provided in the Oracle® Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Readme. Review this information thoroughly before installing EPM System products.

When you download the Smart Search Command Line Utility ZIP file from Oracle E-Delivery, the ZIP file also contains the Smart Search client and server components. Use the instructions in this readme to install all components.

Before beginning the installation process, you must install Java release 1.6 or later and Essbase release 11.1.2.

> To install Smart Search Command Line Utility and related components:

1.    Extract the contents of the smartsearch.zip file.

2.    To allow Smart Search to work well with Essbase Release 11.1.2, create a directory named \SmartSearch in EPM_ORACLE_HOME\products\Essbase.

3.    Copy the contents of the extracted \SmartSearchHome directory to EPM_ORACLE_HOME \products\Essbase\SmartSearch.

4.    Manually deploy EssbaseSearch.war from EPM_ORACLE_HOME\products\Essbase\SmartSearch \AppServer\InstallableApps to your application server.

5.    In the file EPM_ORACLE_HOME\products\Essbase\smartsearch\hysl\EssbaseSearch.properties, add the following entry: WebAppUrl=http://hostname:portnum/EssbaseSearch, where hostname is the name for the server on which Smart Search has been deployed and portnum is the port number on which the server has been deployed.

6.    Create an environment variable named SMARTSEARCH_HOME and set its value to EPM_ORACLE_HOME\products\Essbase\SmartSearch.

7.    Start the Smart Search server.
