This document includes important, late-breaking information about Oracle® Hyperion Smart Search Command Line Utility. Review this Readme thoroughly before installing Smart Search.
Note: The Smart Search 11.1.2.0 release has been certified to work with Essbase 11.1.2.1. This release is the final release for Smart Search Command Line Utility. There are no further plans to enhance Smart Search or to support and distribute it with any subsequent release of Essbase.
This release supports non-English languages. The
list of supported languages for all EPM System products is included in the
Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Certification Matrix,
posted at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/hyperion-supported-platforms.html.
The method of indexing and configuring Smart Search has been changed for this release. Instead of configuring Smart Search using Essbase Administration Services, you now configure Smart Search from a command prompt using the Smart Search Command Line Utility. For information on configuring Smart Search, see the Oracle Hyperion Smart Search Command Line Utility Administrator’s Guide, available on the Oracle Technology Network (OTN) Web site.
Late-breaking information about installation of EPM System products is provided in the Oracle® Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Readme. Review this information thoroughly before installing EPM System products.
When you download the Smart Search Command Line Utility ZIP file from Oracle E-Delivery, the ZIP file also contains the Smart Search client and server components. Use the instructions in this readme to install all components.
Before beginning the installation process, you must install Java release 1.6 or later and Essbase release 11.1.2.
> To install Smart Search Command Line Utility and related components:
1. Extract the contents of the smartsearch.zip file.
2. To allow Smart Search to work well with Essbase Release 11.1.2, create a directory named \SmartSearch in EPM_ORACLE_HOME\products\Essbase.
3. Copy the contents of the extracted \SmartSearchHome directory to EPM_ORACLE_HOME \products\Essbase\SmartSearch.
4. Manually deploy EssbaseSearch.war from EPM_ORACLE_HOME\products\Essbase\SmartSearch \AppServer\InstallableApps to your application server.
5. In the file EPM_ORACLE_HOME\products\Essbase\smartsearch\hysl\EssbaseSearch.properties, add the following entry: WebAppUrl=http://hostname:portnum/EssbaseSearch, where hostname is the name for the server on which Smart Search has been deployed and portnum is the port number on which the server has been deployed.
6. Create an environment variable named SMARTSEARCH_HOME and set its value to EPM_ORACLE_HOME\products\Essbase\SmartSearch.
7. Start the Smart Search server.
