Significant Changes in the Oracle Solaris 11.4 Release

    The Oracle Solaris 11.4 release includes the following enhancements:

  • Support for NFS Version 4.1 – Oracle Solaris 11.4 supports the NFS Version 4.1. You can control the upper and lower protocol version levels negotiated by the NFS client and server. For more information, see Features in NFS Version 4.1.

    You can use the nfsstat command to display the statistics for NFS Version 4.0 and NFS Version 4.1. For more information, see nfsstat Command.

  • Support for sharing labeled file systems – This feature enables remote clients to access labeled file systems using NFS. For more information, see Sharing a Labeled File System.

  • Support for the svc:/network/nfs/cleanup service – This service removes the hidden NFS files periodically. For more information, see Removing Hidden NFS Files.
