A hotspot question includes a graphic with multiple highlighted areas or "hotspots" that prompts the user to identify the area of the graphic that constitutes the correct answer.
To create a hotspot question, you should first include a background image. Background images can be stored on your computer or saved in package documents and stored in the Library. You should size the background image before inserting it into the question since you cannot resize it in the Question Editor.
Once the background image appears in the hotspot question, you identify the hotspot areas by adding options. Each time you click
Add Option, a red box (with the number incremented by one) appears on the top left corner of the background image. If you add multiple hotspots, they appear one on top of the other. You can drag and drop the red box to reposition the hotspot. You can also drag any of the edit handles to resize a hotspot.
Note: To delete a hotspot area, click the hotspot area to display the edit handles and click
.
When you view the question in Preview or in the Player, the question box may cover some of the background image and hotspots. You can reposition the question box by dragging it by its blue Question header to a new location.
