You can apply formatting to individual words or characters using these options:

 Bold: Bolds the selected text.

 Italic: Italicizes the selected text.

 Underline: Underlines the selected text. If the selected text includes multiple words, the space between the words is also underlined.

 Strikethrough: Applies strikethrough to the selected text. If the selected text includes multiple words, the space between the words is also struck through.

 Subscript: Applies formatting that is smaller and set below the baseline of the surrounding text.

 Superscript: Applies formatting that is smaller and set above the baseline of the surrounding text.
