You can use the tools on the Style Editor - Text/Paragraph toolbar to define attributes such as alignment, spacing, padding, and line and border settings for paragraphs, lists, tables, images, and lines.
The alignment options determine the horizontal position of text and images. Clicking an icon for an alignment applied to a style removes the formatting and returns the alignment to the default setting. Alignment options are available for Address, Block Quote, Bulleted/Numbered List, Document Body, Headings, Image (left and right only), Preformatted, and Table (all elements) styles.
Align Left: Aligns a paragraph or image with the left margin. When a paragraph is left aligned, the text is uneven on the right side. This is usually the default text alignment setting for the languages with left to right direction. When an image is left aligned, the text wraps around the right side of the image.
Align Center: Symmetrically aligns a paragraph along the vertical axis and the text is uneven on the both sides. This setting is often used in titles or table cells.
Align Right: Aligns a paragraph or image with the right margin. When a paragraph is right aligned, the text is uneven on the left side. When an image is right aligned, the text wraps around the left side of the image.
Align Justify: Aligns a paragraph with both left and right margin; the text is not uneven on either side. Flexible spacing between letters and words stretch or contract to fill each line.
The following tools may be available for different style types to apply attributes for paragraphs, lines, images, table elements, and so on.
Spacing: Opens the Spacing dialog box to set the spacing around paragraphs, list items, headings, images, and table elements. You can set values in points (default unit) or pixels for the Before, After, Indentation Left, and Indentation Right fields. To apply the same value to all sides, select the Use Same for All option and enter a spacing value and unit.
Available for Address, Block Quote, Bulleted/Numbered List, Document Body, Heading, Horizontal Line, Image, Paragraph, Preformatted, and Table (table position and caption) styles.
Border: Opens the Border dialog box with options to set the border width in pixels (default unit) or points and select a border color. A border color preview displays the selected color. You can use the Border tool to change the line attributes for tables and horizontal lines or create a border around paragraphs and images.
Note: If you create a border around a paragraph or image, you may want to use padding to create additional spacing between the text and the border lines.
Available for Address, Block Quote, Heading, Image, Link, Paragraph, Preformatted, Table (whole table, headers, rows, and cell elements), and Text styles.
Width and Height: Opens the Width and Height dialog box with options to set the width and height and select a unit of measurement for each value. You must enter whole numbers for the width and height settings. The unit settings for width and height include points, pixels (default unit), and percentage. The percentage unit automatically resizes the width of the element to fit a percentage of the screen. A percentage of 100 uses the entire horizontal space.
Available for Horizontal Line and Table (position element) styles.
Padding: Opens the Padding dialog box with options for setting the Top, Bottom, Left, and Right padding values in points (default unit) or pixels for each side. To apply the same value to all sides, select the Use Same for All option and enter a padding value and unit. When used in a style that includes borders, padding applies to the spacing between the text and the border lines.
Available for Address, Block Quote, Bulleted/Numbered List, Document Body, Heading, Image, Paragraph, Preformatted, and Table (caption, headers, rows, cell elements) styles.
