For Release 8.3.2 and above, the Database Only installation option in P6 Professional setup.exe is applicable to only those users who have already installed P6 Professional from ClickOnce, and want to use P6 Professional in an offline mode.
It Oracle XE is not found, the install wizard will install Oracle XE and then install P6 Pro database (PPMDB).
If Oracle XE and the P6 pro database are already installed, it will upgrade the P6 pro database schema (PPMDB )
If Oracle XE is installed, and P6 Pro database is not installed, it will install a new P6 Pro (PPMDB ) database.
Note: If P6 Professional was already installed by downloading or using the physical media, then the Database Only installation option will not be visible upon running setup.exe. To see it again as an installation setup option, you must first uninstall P6 Professional and then run setup.exe.
