The mapping of Essbase dimensions to relational fields takes place in the Essbase query on the Set Drill Through dialog box.
To set the drill to relational feature:
Verify that a relational query is in the Interactive Reporting document file.
The relational query is used as the target for the drill through.
If a relational query does not exist in the Interactive Reporting document file, the Set Drill Through menu item is disabled.
Select Query, then Set Drill Through.
The Set Drill Through dialog box is displayed.
In the Relational Query drop down box, select the relational query to use as a target for the drill through.
In the Dimension to Topic Mapping section, select the Topic (relational table) and Topic Item (fields for the selected table/topic) from the drop down boxes.
Note: | Multiple topic items can be mapped to the same dimension. There are some cases where multiple levels/generations in the Essbase hierarchy might exist in different topic items, therefore both items need to be mapped. In addition, the member name and alias might exist in separate topic items and both can be mapped to the same Essbase dimension. |
In Dimension drop down box, select the Essbase dimension to be mapped.
Dimension lists all dimensions in the Essbase cube. The dimension “Attribute Calculations” is never included in this list.
Click to add the mapping to the list.
The dimension is added to the Selected area.
The two columns in the mapping list, Relational and OLAP, can be resized by dragging the column label.
To allow drilling on a data cell in CubeQuery, select Enable Cell Drilling.
To display indicators for data cells and metadata labels where drilling can be executed, select Enable Indicators.
By default indicators are not shown.
Since all data cells and/or all member labels in a dimension can be drilled on, the blue cell indicators are only displayed for the top/left cell or member label as shown below
From the Drill To drop down box, select where to show the results of the drill. Valid options are New Results or Existing Results.
To exclude a dimension from the drill path:
Select Query, then Set Drill Through.
The Set Drill Through dialog box is displayed.
Uncheck the “active” box in the Selected area next to the dimension.
Excluding dimensions in this manner allows mapping definitions to be defined, but not necessarily included in the drill action. The All check box allows for enabling or disabling of all items in the list.
