1.1 System Requirements

This section includes system requirements for your Oracle Health Sciences Data Management Workbench installation.

1.1.1 Operating Systems

To get the most current information on the Oracle LSH technology stack, see My Oracle Support article 180430.1, Oracle Life Sciences Applications Supported Technology Stacks.

1.1.1.1 Database Tier

The requirements are the same as for the Oracle LSH database tier:

• Linux x86 (32-Bit)

  • Oracle Enterprise Linux 5

  • Red Hat Enterprise AS/ES 5

• Linux x86-64 (64-Bit)

  • Oracle Enterprise Linux 5

1.1.1.2 Middle Tier

Oracle DMW requires both an Oracle LSH middle tier and a Oracle DMW middle tier.

1.1.2 Hardware

You must install the WebLogic Server on a different application server from Oracle Life Sciences Data Hub. This also allows you to perform some installation steps in parallel:

• You can install JDK, WebLogic Server, and Oracle Applications Developer (up to Section 3.5, "Apply the JSF Library to the Oracle DMW Domain" in this book) without dependency on any steps in the Oracle Life Sciences Data Hub Installation Guide.

• After you have upgraded Oracle Database to 11.2.0.3 as directed in the Oracle Life Sciences Data Hub Installation Guide, you can perform Section 3.6, "Copy runtime12.jar into the Domain's lib Directory" to Section 3.10, "Configure the DMWServer Managed Server".

Subsequent steps in this guide are dependent on completing the installation of Oracle LSH.

1.2 Technology Stack
