This section describes the new and changed Siebel Application Adapter features.

This guide is a new edition of the formerly titled Oracle WebCenter Administrator's Guide for Siebel Application Adapter.

New and Changed Features for 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.8)

The Siebel Adapter includes the following new and changed features:

Managed Attachments Integration With Oracle WebCenter Capture 11g (11.1.1.8)

You can configure the adapter to direct the Oracle WebCenter Capture application to scan a document and pass in document metadata values. This allows users to either scan a document using a TWAIN-compliant scanner or import a file from the Managed Attachments IFrame and attach it to the selected Siebel record. Note that users can import non-image files such as PDF or Microsoft Word documents in addition to image files, if allowed by the client profile.

In previous releases, you could direct the Oracle Distributed Document Capture 10g application to scan or import from Managed Attachments. With this release, you can integrate Managed Attachments with the Capture 11g or 10g applications. For information about Managed Attachments integration with Capture 11g, see Section 2.4.
