About transferring patients

In a long-running study, patients will relocate, change physicians, or be reassigned to a different investigator or site. When these scenarios occur, the OutcomeLogix application supports patient transfer from one site to another.

All records and forms, whether or not they are completed, move with the transferred patient and become the responsibility of the destination site.

After the patient is transferred, investigators at the originating site retain access to pre-transfer data. However, the transferred patient is no longer associated with the originating site for purposes of total patient count, reports, listings, and so on. Investigators at the originating site cannot update visits in the originating site or view data entered at the destination site after the transfer. The users at the destination site can edit forms in incomplete visits after the patient transfer.

A user can only perform a transfer if the user:

• Has access to both the originating and destination sites.
• Belongs to the role with the right to perform a patient transfer.

Patients must have at least a Pre-screened status to be eligible for transfer.
