Guest Profile Privacy

When the Profiles>Privacy application function is set to Y, the property allows a guest to choose rather they want to receive promotional information, mailings, etc. When a new profile is created, the Profile Privacy application function is active and the Profiles>Privacy Default application parameter is set to N, then none of the options are selected, as when the parameter is set to Y, all the options are automatically selected.

Note: The Profile Privacy screen will only show for reservations made for Individual or Contact profiles.

When the Profiles>Privacy application function is set to Y, the Front Desk>Prompt Privacy at Check In application setting can be set to Always, Never, or Once. When set to Always, the Profile Privacy screen will always display at check in. When set to Never, then the Profile Privacy screen will never display at check in. And when set to Once, then the Profile Privacy screen will only display on the very first check in.

Profile Privacy Screen

The Profile Privacy screen displays the following information.

I do NOT want to receive promotional information. When the check box is selected, the guest wishes not to be included on the property's mailing list. This is the second entry point where you can select whether the guest is or isn't to be included on this feature. If this field is selected on the above screen, then the Mailing List field on the main Profile screen will display N as well. A corresponding column in the NAME table exists to identify if this option was checked or not: MAIL_LIST. If this option is selected, the MAIL_LIST field is set to N.

I do NOT want to participate in Market Research. When the check box is selected, the guest wishes not to have their information included in market research projects. If the guest wants to participate in Market Research, certain information is stored, for example in a data warehouse, then the information is exported and extracted from OPERA to use for research purposes. A corresponding column in the NAME table exists to identify if this option was checked or not: MARKET_RESEARCH_YN. If this option is selected, the MARKET_RESEARCH_YN field is set to N.

I do NOT want to receive information from Third Parties. When the check box is selected, the guest wishes not to receive information from third parties. A corresponding column in the NAME table exists to identify if this option was checked or not: THIRD_PARTY_YN. If this option is selected, the THIRD_PARTY_YN field is set to N.

I do NOT want to be auto enrolled in Loyalty Program. When the check box is selected, the guest wishes not to be automatically enrolled in the property's Loyalty Program. This field displays when the Profiles>Default Membership Type application setting has been selected. A corresponding column in the NAME table exists to identify if this option was checked or not: AUTOENROLL_MEMBER_YN. If this option is selected, the AUTOENROLL_MEMBER_YN field is set to N.

I do NOT want to receive Emails. When the check box is selected, the guest wishes not to receive emails from the property.

I do NOT want to receive Phone Calls. When the check box is selected, the guest wishes not to receive phone calls from the property.

Email. Displays or allows the entry of the primary email address for the guest. An email address will appear if one has been entered for the guest on the main Profile screen as a method of communication. Modifying the email address from the Profile Privacy screen, or vice versa, will also update the email address on the guests main Profile screen.

Double Opt In

When the Profiles>Function>Privacy and Profiles>Parameter>Double Opt In application settings are set to Y, a Double Opt In option will be available on the Profile Privacy screen. A "Double Opt In" check box will be displayed next to each privacy option selected for the profile. When Double Opt In is selected for a privacy option, an email will be sent to give the guest an opportunity to opt back in to receive emails, calls, promotional mailings, etc. If the guest chooses to opt back in, the privacy option will be unselected for the profile. However, if the guest declines to opt back in, the privacy option will remain selected.
