Requirements and Assumptions for Upgrade Installations

Listed below are the requirements and assumptions when installing the OEDS interface.

Hardware

For PMS sites, the hardware will be provided by Expedia. For ORS sites, the regional Oracle office will determine the requirements.

Operating Systems

Installing OEDS requires installing one of the following operating systems with latest service packs and security patches:

Software

Before running the OEDS Wizard, you must install the following items in the order listed, with the latest service packs and security patches:

Secure Sockets Layer Certificate

The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate for IIS can be immediately granted by an SSL issuer once IIS has been installed.

Note: It is assumed that this will be done by Expedia for PMS or ORS.

Opera Electronic Distribution Suite Wizard

Opera Electronic Distribution Suite (OEDS) should only be installed after installing IIS, .Net 2.0, and the Oracle Client. Access the Opera application server on-site and go to the micros/opera/tools directory. In the OEDS folder, copy the OEDS.zip file over to the ADS Interface PC and extract the contents to a temporary directory.

For Upgrade Installations Only

For an upgrade installation from versions higher than 3.0.0e4 or 2.6.2e16, use the Upgrade Opera Electronic Distribution Suite file located in the Tools folder on the Opera Applications server. This launches the OEDS Wizard and contains the most current version.

Important Note: The Upgrade Wizard should not be used to upgrade from versions lower than 3.0.0e4 or 2.6.2e16. If upgrading from a version lower than these, DO NOT continue. You must first perform the steps described in Performing a Manual Uninstall, and then follow the steps described in Performing a New OEDS Installation.

For upgrades, you MUST clear all MSMQs that are used for the Opera GDS Interface before running the wizard. Therefore, please process any Type B failed reservations using the 2C Monitor.

Even though the OEDS Wizard automatically stops the Web Services, Oracle recommends that these are manually stopped prior to running the OEDS Wizard.
