Configuring Advanced Dynamic Rates

This topic outlines the steps for creating an Advanced Dynamic rate. This procedure is divided into the following parts:

Part 1: Application Settings Configuration

Part 2: Rate Configuration

Part 3: Rate Conversion

Part 1: Application Settings Configuration

  1. In Setup>Application Settings, enable the following property-specific application functions:

Rates>Advanced Dynamic Base Rates to Y

    Rates>Best Available Rates to Y

    Rates>Dynamic Base Rates to Y

If the above application settings are set to Y, the property-specific Rates>Convert to Advance Rate function will display under the Rates group in Application Settings. Set this function to Y.

Set the property-specific Rates>Best Available Rate Type application setting to Best Bar by Day.

  2. Set the property-specific application setting Rates>Compare Rate Location. The available options are RATE_HEADER or RATE_DETAILS. This setting determines the area on the Rate Setup screen where the rate details for the new rate will display.

Part 2: Rate Configuration

  1. Go to Setup>System Configuration>Rate Management>Rate Classifications>Rate Codes, select New and choose the property in which you wish to create the rate.
  2. On the Rate Header, complete the details for the rate header information. After this information is completed, select the More tab on the Rate Setup screen.

  4. Select Save and return to the Rate Header tab.

Part 3: Rate Conversion

  1. On the Rate Header tab, select the Convert button. This button will enable you to convert the rate into an Advanced Dynamic rate. The following prompt will display: “Do you want to delete all Rate Details?” Select No to this prompt. Next you will be prompted to "Convert to Advance Dynamic."
