Welcome to the OPERA Revenue Management System (ORMS) (ADF11)

Note: This topic applies to ORMS ADF11.

Revenue management is a management approach to optimizing revenue, generally based on managing potential revenues for a given capacity at a certain point in time - a revenue maximization technique which aims to increase net yield through allocation of available resources to predicted demand. This is accomplished by utilizing historical data, current booking trends, and then forecasting the potential demand for a resource and calculating the value for this demand. Rate/Yield Management is the practice of accepting demand at sell rates aimed at achieving the highest possible revenue over a given period of time. When the observed pace rises, revenue management responds by closing those lower rates, for which the expected demand has been achieved. And this is where ORMS is to your advantage.

OPERA Revenue Management System (ORMS) is a powerful, agile, and comprehensive revenue management system that helps sell the right resources to the right customer at the right time for the right price.

ORMS is fully integrated into the OPERA application. The ORMS application understands the patterns of a property's specific business practice, demand patterns and reacts automatically by adjusting the forecast and the rates that the property should be charging to maximize Yield. This means that the best rate calculations are determined immediately, with no need to transfer data between systems and the related delays. Once activated, ORMS is built to work for the property distinctly and rate recommendations are based on the properties historic and future reservation data.

With a few simple configuration steps, the property can be analyzed and pricing recommendations determined. Sales agents are directed to which rate amount to sell, taking any guess work out of the sales process; therefore leading to more sales by efficiently and consistently quoting the appropriate rate amount to potential guests.

In the overall picture, ORMS means properties will experience increased overall occupancy, increased ADR (Average Daily Rate) which results in an increased REVPAR (Revenue per Available Room).
