PMS ORS (Property)

Description. Affects the reservations created from the ORS "Sales Screen" or PMS "Cross Selling" screen. When enabled, availability will be re-checked before saving the reservation to avoid silent overrides and overbooks.

Internal Name. REVALIDATE_INVENTORY_BEFORE_SAVING

Property Determination. When set to Y, in order for a user to book a room type that is sold out, the user must have the permission to overbook or the system will prompt the user to either "override" the prompt using another user with the overbook permission or to abort the reservation.

For example, consider the following scenario: REVALIDATE AVAILABILITY BEFORE SAVING is set to Y and User A (no overbooking permission) and User B are both trying to book the last room of type "King." User B beats User A to the booking and saves his reservation for the room type. User A is still in the process of making the reservation and books the same room type, King, but it is sold out. When User A tries to save the reservation, the system prompts him to either override the prompt with another user who has the overbooking permission or to abort the reservation.
