Description. Address Type logic for Individual and Contact Profiles.

Internal Name. ADDRESS_TYPE_DEFAULT

Property Determination. If Primary is selected (Primary is the default), the address marked as the Primary address (see Addresses) for the profile will be used when creating and viewing individual and contact profiles. If Default is selected, the Profiles>Contact Address Type application setting becomes available. This application setting may be used to specify a default address type that is to show on the Contact Profile screen (CON_MAIN), on the Contact Search screen (CON_FIND), and on the Profile Search screen (PRSRC00) when Contact is selected in the View By filter. The contact address type address will also be used by default when an address is added to a new contact profile, and the contact address type address will be available by default when an address is included in the merge fields resulting from a data extraction (see Data Extraction).

If no address type is selected for the Contact Address Type setting, the address marked as the Primary address is assumed.

The Profiles>Individual Address Type application setting is available regardless of the Profiles>Address Type Default setting. When Profiles>Address Type Default is set to Default or null, the Individual Address Type application setting may be used to specify a default address type that is to show on the individual Profile screen (PROFILE), on the Profile Search screen (PRSRC_00) and on the Profile Search screen (PRSRC00) when Individual or View All is selected in the View By filter. The individual address type address will also be used by default when an address is added to a new individual profile. When the Profiles>Address Type Default setting is set to Default, the individual address type address will be available by default when an address is included in the merge fields resulting from a data extraction (see Data Extraction).
